Expert Musical Paws (EMP)
This is a Trick Dog Indahouse title, designed and introduced from 1st January 2025.
Title includes a rosette and certificate
To obtain your Expert Musical Paws title please submit the criteria listed below and have obtained the following
· Novice Musical Paws
· Intermediate Musical Paws
· Advance Musical Paws
Title criteria
· Handler and Dog to perform at least15 tricks to music.
At least 3 intermediate tricks to be included in your performance
At least 1 advance trick to be included
At lease 1 expert level trick to be included
At least two tricks using a prop to be included
Tricks from any level can be used for the remainder criteria of your performance
· Costume or outfit relating to your performance to be worn by you OR your dog.
· Video to be a minimum of 30seconds, and no longer than 5minutes in length.
· Handler to say the title of the music at the start of the performance.
· Video (or link) to be submitted by one of the following methods
a Post on the Trick Dogs Indahouse Facebook group page
b Send as a message in messenger to Karen Colls
c Send as an email to trickdogsindahouse@virginmedia.com (please also send me a messenger message to let me know in case it goes through to the spam folder)
Cost to submit for your title is £19 which will include a certificate & rosette
CUES: The handler may give multiple cues per trick. Praise and encouragement at any time is fine.
You may use a trick multiple times to link your routine together but will only be counted once.
Any tricks on the Trick Dogs Indahouse list of tricks can be used if meeting the criteria above
Music to be played in the background of the video live, not super imposed afterwards. This is not an assessment of your editing skills.
Music must not contain any offensive language
Any type of music is allowed unless otherwise specified in the main title description (future speciality titles will be available).
You can start the music at any point in the song, for example if you are only using the chorus for your performance, you do not need to play the whole song. You may also play multiple songs as long as there is no break in your performance
For those of you that wish to be creative, you can develop your own compilation of different songs as one song track as long as the music is played live in the video and you say this at the start of your performance
Costumes and outfits – at least one member of the performance needs to wear an outfit or costume during the performance
Use at least two props in your performance is at this level
Stage props and decorations are optional at this level
NO Food or toys in the hand may be used at this level. Food may be given to the dog after tricks if required but not used as a lure. Food must be concealed in a bag or packet. Given of treats should not break your performance but be given in streamline to your performance.
Please be aware if using YouTube for your videos there may be restrictions on what you can upload as public. It is your responsibility to abide by those rules.
